Shut down the laptop
To begin press and hold the power button and disconnect the power cord. Turn the laptop
over and remove the battery
Remove the bezel
Now we can remove the bezel. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove four screws holding
the bezel. Two screws on the top and two screws on the bottom. Unsnap the bezel's tabs
gently pulling the inner edge of the bezel away from the glass. Go around the perimeter.
The bezel is still held in place by the hinges. Pull the bezel away from the screen
to get access to the screws holding the screen on the mounting rails
Separate the LCD screen
Use the same Phillips screwdriver to remove six screws. Three screws on the right side
and three screws on the left. Separate the LCD screen from the back cover leaving it to
an angle of approximately of 30 degrees
Disconnect the screen
Now we have access to the video connector. Remove the clear tape securing the connector.
Gently pull the connector out and discard the old screen
Connect the new screen
Take the new LCD screen and insert it between the bezel and the back cover. Reconnect
the video connector. Secure it with a clear tape. CAUTION! It is very important not to force
any of the connectors. You must not twist or slant the connector when plugging it in
Test the new screen
Now we can test the new screen. reconnect the power cord and press the power button.
The screen is working and we can finish the installation process
Install the new screen
Replace the six screws holding the LCD screen on the mounting rails. Three screws on the
right side and three screws on the left. Fold the corner of the protective film for easy removal
at the end of the replacement process
Replace the bezel
Start replacing the bezel. Go around the perimeter snapping tabs back in place.
Replace four Phillips screws securing the bezel.
Remove the protective film. Replace the battery. Reconnect the power cord. And we
are done!
